Since 2020, the WACCHL has expanded from consisting of only North Carolina State University and Virginia Tech, to welcoming High Point University, The University of Virginia, Georgetown University, George Washington University and University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill into the league. We play a minimum of nine games per season against these in-league teams. Home games are hosted at the Berglund Center in Roanoke, Virginia, a relatively centralized location for our teams to compete and about 45 minutes from Virginia Tech’s main campus.

Join the Team

Practices are held twice a week in Roanoke at the Berglund Center and Lancerlot Sports Complex. Carpools are arranged every week to accommodate all members. Dues vary each year to cover all on-ice practices, lodging for away games, reimbursements for drivers, ice time for games, payment to referees and the league, jerseys and team bonding activities such as the end-of-year banquet, for the fall and spring seasons.

Players of all experience levels are encouraged to attend our information session, which will take place before tryouts to provide an opportunity to meet the team and ask questions. Tryouts are typically held about a week after RecFest, Virginia Tech’s club sports fair, in the first few weeks of September.
